Hi everyone, I’m John Horak from West Hartford, Connecticut. My photography journey began during my freshman year of high school when I picked up a used 1980-something canon T70 35 mm camera. I was fortunate enough to enroll in a graphics course that was taught by an experienced former professional photographer. Learning film development as well as digital photography and processing in programs like adobe photoshop set the wheels in motion.

I put the camera away during college and focused on studying. Several years later while in graduate school, I purchased a used SLR on ebay on a whim and reignited by love of photography. Since then I’ve enjoyed traveling and shooting as much as possible when i’m not working my full time job as a physician assistant.
